Why old stories?

Because they were written by people who watched the same things we do: the waiting, the silence, the man who is charming to you and careless with everyone else. They didn’t write advice columns. They wrote stories, and they wrote them down carefully enough that we still have them.

How we read them

As literature — for what they know about people. We use one line from the source, quoted from public-domain English translations, and build a modern tool around it. You don’t need to believe anything, belong anywhere, or know any ancient language.

Who writes EVOKANS

The EVOKANS team — a small group that reads the Bible and the Talmud closely, the way you’d read great literature. Every story, test and email is written and checked by a person, and every source line can be looked up.
